Grayson’s Art Club is a Channel 4 television documentary series hosted by artist Grayson Perry and his wife, psychotherapist Philippa Perry. During lockdown, Grayson Perry, one of Britain’s for most artists, brought people around the country together through art, helping them to unleash their creativity as part of his Channel 4 TV series. Due to the popularity of the program, it continued into a third series in 2022.
Out of the 17,000 entries Caroline’s Eyes on the Pride was one of the art works selected to appear in the television show and be exhibited at the Midlands Art Centre (MAC).
Eyes on the Pride
Eyes on the Pride was inspired by my eldest daughter‘s hen party in Portugal. The painting is about the freedom of travel, holidays, rituals and fun! It celebrates a modern day rite of passage.
My daughter, the bride to be, is painted in the centre, looking into the crowd/future – twerking, dancing, embracing her power and freedom. It also commemorates the moment when my three daughters revelled in the joy and fun of their femininity for one last night before my eldest daughter married.
